The Better Business Bureau has put out a warning for something they are calling the “One Ring” scam. The scam works very simply and could potentially be raising a cell phone bill starting at as much as $20. A phone will receive a call for just one ring and then will end. The way the scam works is on the return end. If you return the call to that number it routes to an international call that could accrue a large fee, with an additional fee of $9-per-minute after that with everything being added to that months bill.
The BBB as well as everyone here at 2K recommend that if you do not know the number that called your cell phone, do not call it back. Waiting for a call from your Doctor or your mechanic? Do a quick search online and see if the number matches up with the business that you are waiting on a call from. Be cautious as the new scam does not care about the Do Not Call list.
We hope this aides in your business and personal life, and as usual if 2K can help you in any way do not hesitate to call us at 717-724-0537!
